Personalized Towels/Napkins for DIY
Part of the party planning always includes a personalized DIY party favor and this girl is working already on the big 1-6 preppy party! I've always wanted to try some fabric painting so come along with me and let's give it a try!
Step 2: Wash the towels and iron it to be flat, I folded mine in thirds because I want to hang the towels off each place setting. Prepare the stencil, prepare the paint and get all your space ready to go.
Step 3: Mix your paint and textile medium. I followed the instructions on the bottle, but I think because the towels are a certain type of material which is very thin, I would make it a bit thicker next time. I did 1 teaspoon of paint to 2 teaspoons of textile medium.
Step 4: Once you have the paint ready, just gentle dab the paint over the stencil. I did it heavier than I think I should have the first time and made two. My first one I did on the Shoppers towel and it was a little bleedy. The second one I did on the Walmart towel and went with a lighter touch and it didn't bleed. I like the Shoppers fabric better so going to do the rest of them with the Shoppers towel but use a lighter touch! I will post when the paty is all set up as well.
